Welcome to Madison Wool! We are a fiber lover’s paradise, with fine yarns for handknitting plus one of a kind art yarns that you cannot find anywhere else! We sell spinning wheels and looms, have lessons in knitting , spinning, felting, and weaving, and have a small but mighty creative space for classes. We have loose fibers and roving for sale, and a drum carder to blend it for use as well. We also carry Innova Golf Discs and accessories for disc golf in the back room. And, we are open 7 days a week for your fibery pleasure!
5/30/13: New Spring and early Summer Classes added! Turkish Bed Socks, Rigid Heddle Weaving, Needle Felting, and much much more…check it out under Knitting, and Spinning and Fiber Arts too!
We are one of three stops on the US Tour of Australian Fiber Artist Michelle Snowdon, aka ‘Wooldancer’! She will be teaching here August 10-11, 2013 at Wildwood Farm. Check it out on the Spinning and Fiber Arts page!
Starting 6/5/13, adding an afternoon ‘Stitch and Beach”! Join us Wednesday afternoons 3-6 PM with your knitting, spinning, and dropped stitches, and we are happy to help! The Tuesday Evening Stitch and Beach is too large to be a ‘help’ class, so this is a better time to bring your problem projects.
Closed Memorial Day, Monday 5/27/13, plus Monday, June 3, 2013.
***Follow us on Facebook for daily updates, and join the newsletter to stay in the loop for current classes and events. Contact us at 203-245-5921 (or leave a voicemail).
9/28/12: News! Stitch and Beach (open knitting/spinning) is moving! We will meet Tuesday evenings starting 10/16/12. Last Wednesday meeting is 10/3/12, with a week off for Stitches East the following week. Due to schedule changes at my other job, this will be the new day until …. We are also closing at 6 PM on Thursday evenings starting 10/11/12 as well.
* For classes you are interested in not scheduled, call the shop and we can schedule it for you–especially spinning, weaving, or felting, and children’s classes* We are happy to schedule private lessons, and we also do repairs on knitwear and spinning wheels**
FAQ: Where is your shop? We are NOT directly on Wall Street, you have to drive in to the back of 56….You will see our sign on the road, and we are on the side directly behind Suburban Travel. Follow the ‘yarn bombed’ snow poles and that will lead you to our door….Plenty of free parking right in front of the shop, but fine to park on Wall Street.
Do you only carry Wool? No! We love fiber in all its’ forms! We have a wonderful selection of cotton, silk, bamboo, and blends. A Wool shop is a British term for a yarn shop, that’s all.
